Michael’s Stores recently published a list of top trends for 2014, and burlap made the list. I’m not surprised! Burlap is an inexpensive, versatile material to work with, and it looks great in so many settings. Today I’m going to show you an easy no-sew burlap runner that you can make in no time!
- Burlap ribbon in red
- Fabric Glue
Step one: Cut the burlap and ribbon to desired length.
Step two: Use the fabric glue to adhere the ribbon to the burlap. I placed a large plastic bag under my project to protect my work surface.
Step three: Place your stencil on the burlap. Use a foam roller to quickly apply paint over the stencil. I used a multi-purpose paint, which works on all surfaces, including fabric.
Repeat your stenciled design until the desired effect is achieved. I like using the mini foam roller so the paint doesn’t bleed under the stencil. You can see I have nice, crisp edges on my stenciled design…yay!
A quick, simple project that will instantly brighten your table! You could easily make several to decorate multiple tables for a party, or make them in different colors or patterns for different holidays. Have fun crafting and creating!
