About CASA of Travis County:
CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who've been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations in the child's best interest. After 33 hours of intensive training, background checks and being sworn-in by a judge, volunteers are appointed to a child or family of children and spend an average of 20 hours a month advocating for these children for at least a year. Created in 1985, CASA of Travis County is now one of the top ten CASA programs in the nation, supporting more than 550 volunteers who advocate for at least 1,400 children a year.

About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas (RMHC Austin):
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children and their families through the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. RMHC Austin has been helping children heal since 1985 when a group of community leaders came together to open the first Ronald McDonald House in Austin. Since that day, the doors of the Ronald McDonald House have never closed – not for a day, not for an hour. When children are in the hospital, their families stay at the House or one of the Family Rooms - at St. David's Women's Center of Texas or Dell Children's Medical Center. RMHC Austin depends on local donations to support the more than 1300 families who come through their doors every year.
